Red Noses and Model Houses

Happy Red Nose Day from all the architects and builders in 1RS!

DT Week

We have worked jolly hard this week, making these houses for Mama Bear. We received a letter from her on Monday  morning asking if we could design and build a house for her and her family. 

Here are our finished houses.

Dressing up for Book Week

Miss Smyth’s class and some interesting characters in it today. Harry Potter, Batman, Ironman, Mr Todd, Tintin, Darth Vader, a Storm Trooper, Hermione Granger, Mog the forgetful Cat, the Queen of Hearts, Zog and Angelina Ballerina!



Space Jump theatre

Today Space Jump Theatre came in to share a story with us. We went on a magical journey, jumping through space and time. We used our imaginations to go to new places and create new things, all from the comfort of Harper Hall!

Year 6 share some of their favourite stories with us

Continuing our book week activities year 6 came and read with us. We really liked their choices, particularly The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

Barefoot investigators.

Today we used our feet to explore different materials. We came up with lots of brilliant adjectives to describe what we could feel.

We all agreed that standing in cooked spaghetti was yucky!

Winston Nzinga



Winston Nzinga visited us as part of our book week activities. He sang songs with us, told stories and guided us in exploring a range of instruments. We had such fun. Thank you Winston!

Fiction or fact?



Today we started our book week activities by exploring lots of different books and sorting them into fiction and non fiction books. We worked as teams and Miss Smyth was very impressed with us, we even beat her in our sorting game at the end of the day. We are looking forward to the rest of our book week activities!
